Peter and Jill live with their 7 children in Rochester, NY. She was born in Seattle, Washington. She moved to Indian Lake, NY, a small town in the Adirondack Mountains, when she was 8 years old. It was there that she met the boy that would one day become her husband. Follow their blog to hear the journey of that unlikely love story.

Jill loves stories. Her life has followed an unusual path that has given her a unique perspective. It is through sharing those stories that she finds peace, joy and laughter.

“For as long as I can remember I have loved to tell stories. My mother came from a large family. She was one of six children. My favorite memories include get-togethers with my aunts and uncles. They were all great storytellers! They were loud and animated, always using hand-gestures and intense facial expressions. It’s a family gift, I guess. Anyone who knows me well, knows I just can’t help myself, I have to tell you a story. And I have to tell it with detail whether it is important to the point or not. For me, writing my story isn’t as easy. Good grammar and punctuation skills are not my strengths. Writing for this blog may be a bit out of my comfort zone. My hope is to encourage others as I share about my family and our experiences as a foster, adoptive, and birth family. Ultimately, I want to bring glory to God through our stories. He is our strength, hope, and firm foundation.”

Peter is excited to be alive. He would love to turn the world upside down.

Peter and Jill have been parents for 24 years, with the last 14 of them as foster parents. They have fostered 30 children, adopted 2 and are currently in the process of fostering to adopt a baby boy. Life is busy. There is never a dull moment around the Farrell family. Join them as they share their love of God, family and fostering.
